We’d like to hear your views on some important proposals. Dumfries Council and SWestrans, supported by DPAG are hosting a public engagement on improvements in Dumfries, including:

  • widening pavement and providing dropped kerbs or raised crossings
  • new crossing places
  • wider pavements
  • pedestrian priority at some crossings
  • pocket parks

In all, 10 plans are presented as the Dumfries Better Streets initiative. You’ll be able to have your say by submitting a response online to as many of the 10 plans as you want.

The  first set of drop-in events where you can view the plans and discuss the details with people that have worked on the project will be on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 November, 2024 from 12 noon to 7pm on both days at The Smithy, 113 High Street, Dumfries (by the Mid Steeple).

You can view the plans in advance online at bit.ly/dumfries-streets or at the Ewart Library. Responses can be given online at the above address until December 16, 2024.
