You can see the most incredible doll’s house in Dumfries Museum but it is usually protected behind glass. For Doors Open Day, we will be opening the dolls up five times throughout the day on the hour, every hour from 10am to 3pm. You will have the chance to peek inside and request objects to be shown to you in more detail. Visit the museum and see the miniature parts of it that are usually hidden!

Our love of dogs has been part of our national identity for centuries and affection for our canine companions shows no sign of waning. This exhibition shows the work of international artists, designers, illustrators and photographers who use dogs as their subject matter and inspiration. The show looks at the influence and impact that dogs have had on these artists’ practise and will also give a brief insight into how dogs have become such an integral part of our lives. This family friendly exhibition, where well behaved, dry dogs will be allowed in the Gallery for the first time, includes a host of dog themed interactives and competitions. Visitors can draw and display their ‘pooch pawtraits’, and find out what they’d look like as a dog using the specially commissioned digital interactive. Artists featured include Sophie Ryder, William Wegman, David Shrigley, Gerrard Gethings, Rafael Mantesso, Holy Smoke, Martha Todd, Shauna Richardson, Lucy Casson, Mychael Barratt, Bryony Rose Jennings, Michael Gillette, John Bond, Zoe Whiteside, Sally Muir, Ryan K Taylor, Sophie Gamand, Georgina Warne, Gemma Rees, Whatshisname, Lazerian and Margaret Couch Cogswell. Well behaved, dry dogs on leads will be allowed in our Gallery 2 space with their owner (rules apply!). No dogs in the cafe.

**JUPITER+NATION DUMFRIES** Growing Pains is a site-specific installation by artist Lindsey Mendick set in an abandoned estate agent's office. Referencing her teenage years, Mendick has transformed the space into a haunting, immersive experience that explores the uncertainty, awkwardness, and societal expectations surrounding adolescence. Assembled on a spiralling desk that references the often cruel loop of teenagehood, Growing Pains features Alice-in-Wonderland-style ceramic dolls' houses that burst open, with teenage figures erupting from within. The work captures the surreal pressures that emerge at the threshold of adulthood, underlining the tension between a yearning for parental acceptance and the simultaneous urge to reject it. Jupiter+Nation is an ambitious off-site programme by Jupiter Artland that brings world class art to high streets across Scotland. Content warning: The supporting documentary film contains strong language, references to suicide, bullying and negative body image that some viewers might find difficult. Young people must be accompanied.

Songs of the Seeds is a touring experience exploring landscapes through all five senses - sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. Begin with a welcome into nature before wandering through the secret garden of Pan's Cafe on a guided foraging walk, discovering edible plants, local folklore and the hidden stories woven through the landscape. As evening unfolds, gather around a shared table for a seasonal feast inspired by the place you've just explored. We'll pause to watch the sunset, enjoy an intimate live performance from Mr Moonfull, featuring songs from his debut album, Wilderchange – Volume One: Wild Gardens. Inspired by the changing seasons and Dumfries landscapes, the music weaves together with storytelling to create a memorable evening of food, nature, creativity and connection. Designed to awaken all five senses, sight, sound, smell, touch and taste, Songs of the Seeds is a chance to slow down, share good food with others, and experience Dumfries in a completely new way.

In the spirit of BAD MOMS and THE HANGOVER, SPA WEEKEND is a hilarious and heartfelt comedy about four lifelong friends who realize that somewhere between careers, relationships, families and everyday responsibilities, they have forgotten how to take care of themselves and each other.

The Last Journey is a photographic exhibition by Gerry Robertson, evoking the last few weeks of Burns's life from the Brow Well to his final resting place. The opening is at 7pm on the 3rd of July at the Robert Burns Centre and the exhibiton will be taking place in what used to the Bonnie Bistro. The exhibition will run from tonight until the end of September during the usual opening hours. The exhibition is kindly supported by Ottersburn, contemporary fine art picture framers. The Museum will also be revealing some new scale models. Music, nibbles and speakers will round off the night.

The final resting place of Robert Burns and his wife Jean Armour. A beautiful Grecian style building set in an atmospheric churchyard. Step inside Burns’ Mausoleum and hear it filled with his music sung by local choir The Dumfries Radicals and harper Wendy Stewart. Drop in anytime between 2pm and 4pm and experience this poignant setting with its beautiful acoustics. The venue is small so only a few people will be able to enter at a time.
