Dumfries Partnership Action Group (DPAG) is dedicated to taking forward our vision, “Dynamically Different Dumfries” to help grow Dumfries a vibrant, well connected, low carbon town centre by celebrating its rich heritage, arts, culture and diversity. We worked in partnership with others to achieve our 10-year plan for Dumfries that was developed by the people and businesses of Dumfries and is supported by Dumfries & Galloway Council.
You must be a member of DPAG to become a Trustee and we consider both individual nominations (you don’t need to be nominated by others just put your name forward) and nominations of a representative of other bodies.
Why Becoming a DPAG trustee is a highly rewarding experience:
- You can make a difference: As a trustee, you have the opportunity to contribute to the future of DPAG, helping to shape the direction and impact of DPAG’s work.
- Share and develop your skills: a chance to share your skills and knowledge as well as develop new skills and gain experience in areas such as governance, strategic planning, partnership working and financial management.
- Networking: You’ll meet and work with a diverse group of people to expand your personal network.
- Personal Fulfilment: Many trustees find the role personally fulfilling, as it allows them to give back to their community and support meaningful projects that make a real difference.
- Legal and Ethical Responsibilities: Trustees play a crucial role in ensuring that the charity operates within the law and adheres to its mission, which can be a deeply satisfying responsibility.
What is expected from you?
- Input from you by bringing your wealth of experience and skill to support and promote the work of DPAG.
- Attending Board meetings – we meet around 12 times a year as a Board (for a maximum of 2 hours in the early evening).
- Some agreed commitment for work between Board meetings – agreed with you depending on your interests and other commitments.
