The Crichton is an 85 acre parkland estate in Dumfries, which is free and accessible to the public all year round and benefits from free parking, electric charging points, glorious gardens, stunning walks and a fascinating history as a psychiatric hospital.

The Crichton is now a business park with 80+ organisations and a multi-institution academic campus and is also home to Easterbrook Hall, the Crichton Memorial Church, Easterbrook Bistro, Bar and Spa, The Crichton Gardens and Holiday Inn Dumfries.

The University of Glasgow, University of the West of Scotland, The Open University in Scotland, Scotland Rural University College and Dumfries and Galloway College are co-located on the academic campus at The Crichton.

Easterbrook Hall is one of the largest venues in the South of Scotland and is a popular choice for weddings, meetings, conferences, exhibitions, family celebrations, corporate celebrations and concerts.  The Crichton Memorial Church is just a short walk from Easterbrook Hall and Holiday Inn Dumfries is available to hire for services, ceremonies, dinners, concerts, funerals and weddings too.

The Crichton Gardens are free to access all year round and are popular with visitors and locals alike. The grounds are also well used for walking, running, cycling and for other forms of exercise and there is a 9-hole golf course immediately across the road. Crichton parkrun is a free 5k event that, during normal times, takes place at The Crichton on a Saturday morning.

Easterbrook Bistro is open 7 days a week for coffee, lunch and afternoon tea and is located to the far side of Easterbrook Hall.  A children’s menu and a takeaway menu is also available.  Easterbrook Bistro is the perfect place to relax after a leisurely stroll through The Crichton Gardens and the ideal place to enjoy a break during a busy day in the office. A new co-working and collaboration space called Crichton Central is currently under construction at The Crichton and is due to open early 2021.
