Joachim Trier's drama follows actress Nora (Renate Reinsve) and her sister Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas) as their eccentric and charismatic father, Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård), suddenly reappears in their lives after a long absence.
