EVENT CINEMA | The Metropolitan Opera EUGINE ONEGIN
About This Event
Following her acclaimed 2024 company debut in Puccini's Madama Butterfly, soprano Asmik Grigorian returns to the Met as Tatiana, the lovestruck young heroine in this ardent operatic adaptation of Pushkin. Baritone Igor Golovatenko reprises his portrayal of the urbane Onegin, who realizes his affection for her all too late. The Met's evocative production, directed by Tony Award–winner Deborah Warner, offers a beautifully detailed reading of Tchaikovsky's lyrical romance. We are thrilled to partner with Absolute Classics to present the Royal Opera & Metropolitan Opera Cinema Season. This collaboration brings filmed live performances from the Royal Opera House— featuring the world's top operatic stars—directly to Dumfries and Galloway. Experience the drama and artistry of world-class opera on the big screen, right in your local community.
