Dance of Death
After August Strindberg
A new adaptation by Matthew short
High tide hits and the silver wedding anniversary looms over Edgar and Alex. Sat in an old and leaky house atop an island in the North Sea, the bitter couple are drowning in their boredom as rising sea-levels and the sound of a cèilidh threaten their so-called-peace.
With the arrival of Alex's cousin and climate officer, Kirsty, the house is suddenly alive with a psychological game of cat and mouse. The dark humour of August Strindberg's classic play, Dance of Death, is sharpened and reimagined before the backdrop of global catastrophe with a uniquely Scottish twist.
