New peer-to-peer women's business network launches

By Gilbert West · 22 July 2026

The Nurture Network brings women founders together at The Standard on the last Wednesday of every month, mixing guided networking with a topic you'll actually make progress on.

The Nurture Network

Wednesday evening (29 July) will see the launch of a new peer-to-peer business network for women founders. The Nurture Network will meet on the last Wednesday of every month at the Green Room of The Standard building.

The initiative is a joint venture between local business woman, Leah Halliday of Flourish, and The Midsteeple Quarter. Each session begins with their ‘Piece by Piece’ guided networking activity, designed to help you connect naturally in small groups. The Nurture Network isn’t just a networking opportunity; each monthly event will focus on a particular topic, you’ll put in the work and leave having made progress, learned or shared new skills and feel buoyed up to go to the next level.

Whether you’re thinking of starting a business, looking to grow your current business or you’re a serial entrepreneur, everyone is welcome. Growing your network is essential in business and the group is open to women from all across Dumfries & Galloway.

The first session will cover, “Social Media Planning without the Overwhelm” and of course there will be plenty time to meet other like-minded business owners and learn from each other. Tickets are £8. The event runs from 18:00 - 20:30 and the building has an accessible entrance.

For full details and tickets, head to the MSQ’s Eventbrite page.
