Part two of September’s music round-up: Oasis on the big screen, Dumfries Pride in Dock Park with an Open Arms after-party, and a classical trio to close the month, free for under-26s.
We promised you a part II to our September festival and music article last week.
Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger – Friday and Sunday evenings at the RBC
The weekend kicks off with the brothers that regularly kicked off at each other, but somehow held it together long enough to become one of the world’s most successful bands.
Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger is on at the Robert Burns Centre Film Theatre and covers the period of their reunion tour in 2025.
There’s a Friday evening and a Sunday evening performance. Apparently everything’s all hunky dory now. We’ll see.
Dumfries Pride – Saturday, march at 11am, Pride in the Park 12 noon to 4pm
Next up is Dumfries Pride on Saturday.
The day starts with a leisurely march from Burns’ statue down to Dock Park for the main event. The march starts at 11am and follows an accessible route, along the High Street and on down to Dock Park.
Once there, Pride in the Park starts at 12 noon and runs until 4pm. You’ll be treated to a line of musicians, speakers and of course a marketplace and food stalls.

The night is capped off with an after-party at the Open Arms starting at 7pm with more live bands and DJ Kiki.

Absolute Classics – a trio to round off the month
Finally, to round off the month we have a concert that must have the longest name ever. Absolute Classics present Clémence de Forceville, violin, Benedict Kloeckner, cello & Oxana Shevchenko, piano.
- Brahms, op. 8 in B Major
- Rachmaninov, Trio no 2, op. 9
Under 26s can attend for free.
